Welcome to the Australian Hodgkin's Lymphoma Network (AHLN), a website dedicated to uniting Hodgkin's Lymphoma patients throughout Australia. The main purpose of this website is to provide patients with access to a network of other Hodgkin's patients through the friend finder service.

A diagnosis of cancer can be very isolating and it's often difficult for Hodgkin's Lymphoma patients to connect because of the rarity of this type of cancer. Hodgkin's was brought into the spotlight when Australian singer, Delta Goodrem, famously won her battle with the disease in 2003, it is not as common as it may seem. Overall, Hodgkin's Lymphoma accounts for only 0.5% of cancers diagnosed.

Each year in Australia, around 400 people are diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma (about 120 in the state of Victoria alone). Hodgkin's Lymphoma can occur at any age but it is most common in adolescents and young adults, with over a third of all cases diagnosed between the ages of 15 and 30 years.

Even though patients may be surrounded by supportive family and friends, it often helps to be able to talk to someone who is the same age, has similar interests and is coping with the same disease. I created this website after I was diagnosed to help Hodgkin's patients and survivors find one another.

This website also features a collection of resources such as news articles, tips on how to support a loved one with cancer, poems and quotes, and a list of inspiring songs.
